Yes-ser coming at once again it's me DJ. Sizzle with the Hipe Hope staff keeping all God's people up on the latest and hottest gospel music artist, news, concerts, and videos. Thanks for clicking to Hipe hope where the viewers are always appreciated. Today I have the privilege of putting yall on an album thats not even out yet, so when you read through this review you can go ahead and get your pre-orders in. For those who've heard of Mark J. his soon to be released new project called An Everyday World is almost here, be prepared to throwed. My advice is to not to bring any expectation of what you've heard from Mark J or any other artist for that matter when dive into the CD. Although you may recognize some of the production styles featured on the project and I'll speak for myself, I've yet to hear them presented like you'll find in the package, Mark J has put together. For those haven't heard of Mark J, he is truly a vet in the game, and he is well equipped to minster the good news of Christ whether in the streets, on the stage, or in the church house. Born in Brooklyn NY where hip-hop was a little more than just music Mark J like countless others found himself attracted to hip-hop early on in life but with prayers and a strong faith based upbringing Mark J was destined to be used of the Lord in a mighty way. After moving to Atlanta GA. in his teens Mark J made the decision to fully commit his life to live out the word of God while spreading the message of salvation through poetic hip-hop music. Mark J has traveled to many countries and has performed with acclaimed gospel artist such as Fred Hammond, Tye tribette, Yolonda Adams, John Pee Kee, and other noteable artist.
On An Everyday World you'll find a list of heavy hitting guest artist making there presence felt on tracks through out this collection to include Pettidee, Victory, and others. With each track Mark J brings life to every word and a clear visual aid with each metaphor. And though his flow is unmistakable he has pulled off the task creating a different feel and sound to every song. With the help of producers like Tony Stone, G-Styles, Juice 20/20, J. Pierre, David Hackley, Kid Classic, and Truth, piecing this puzzle of diverse music together in one collection. This dream team has come together to build an solid album laced with today's most popular genre's from hip-hop, alternative rock, techno, and reggae making An Everyday World is a universal and very powerful album. For all my dudes that love word play track 8 Hold This Line had my head nodding harder than a bobble head doll, real powerful stuff. The Screwed lines in the hook '' put on the full armor'' and ''True soldiers waving their sword in the air'' really set this one off. Mark J puts the need for clear vision and boldness in the body on blast by using movies, cities, and everyday scenario's to rally up believers all over the globe to stand strong in the midst of whatever situation they face. The second track entitled Merge brings the growing epidemic of people who say they 're believer's but don't live up to the words they speak. Mark J exposes the hypocritical members of the body that in many ways discredit what the life of a follower of Christ should reflect. This song highlights the way we sometimes separate parts of our lives and hold on to things we want but shouldn't participate in for some it's secular music, for others it yoked to unbelievers, or to sum it up just being plain old disobedient to the Lord and believe me we've all been there. The message is clear true Christians don't pick and choose what commandments and statues that they will and won't follow. The second verse of this song really goes hard, I love the line '' you want Jesus the savior/ but not Jesus the lord/ it's two in one fam/ it's not either nor or '' this is classic Mark J music, consistent bible based lyrics twisted into hip-hop parables that doesn't sugar coat, but clearly illustrates the condition of man out of fellowship with God. Some other stand tracks to look out for are Let It Go, Luv Thang, and Champion. These are just couple, I'll leave the rest of the bangers for you to explore and please believe this isn't one of those cd's with just a few. I've found myself drawn to every track on this project for one reason or another be it the music, the lyrics, or just an interesting combo of musical elements and styles. Mark J invites his listeners to look at life from an international/cultural point of view from the jump off at the album titled track Everyday World throughout the project but of all the tracks I believe the most heart felt and more enlightening tracks is track 13 Darfurs Dream. This song focuses on the ever growing pain and suffering of our brothers and sisters in Darfur as well as many other areas in Africa. It take a deeper look into what life is like with vivid descriptions of the corruption in the government and how it effects all who live in the area even to the point of death. I pray that as you listen to this track it will encourage you to further research and gain more knowledge of the situation and help raise the awareness in your communities at work and anywhere you can. I also hope that if you are moved by what you learn that you contribute with your prayers and financially if possible to an organization work to provide food shelter and general relief to those in that region. Mark J has truely outdone himself and has put together a collection that will not leave you disappointed. This is solid album like i said before. April 21st is the date of release for An Everyday World get your pre-orders in to be sure you your not stuck without your own copy on release day. Myself and the Hipe Hope staff would like to thank Mark J for his work and giving us all fire music to edify our souls and satisfy our ears. I apologize if this one was a little lengthy but here it is short and sweet.......
An Everyday World's rating is 5 of 5 hipe hope headphones for strong and diverse production, heavy spiritual content, and superb delivery.
