Album Review :: Messenja :: Take the City

Yes yes I know I'm a little late on this one I'll contribute this one to to just being a little off my game but now I'm playing catch up I'll start with the Take the City album from the ATL"s own Messenja. We've posted the albums first single and video here, which shares the project tittle Take the City, now we'll take a closer look at this well put together collection. I first came across Messenja on a Canton Jones's Love Jones album. With a name like Messenja it pretty much sums up what he's about. Spreading the word of the lord Messenja laces beats of various styles with creative first hand accounts of the christian lifestyle. With no shame Messenja isn't afraid to tell it like it is with confidence and surety the message of hope is boldly conveyed in the Take the City project. In this project you'll find a collection of krunk songs, tracks you can just chill to, as well as serious cuts that get your brain sparkin. Take the City is feel good clean fun music that packs something for everyone. Look for guest artist Million, Mr. Del and Holy South, and of course you know Cajo is on it among others. This album will definitely take you back when songs were made out of what the artist was feelin regardless of who would feel it or not. Being a family man I saw myself in a couple of tracks, one being The Baby Daddy Song. I like how Messenja points out the importance of being an active parent to our children in a culture that where unfortunately to some this issue is a secondary matter and is often down played. Messenja scores big, tackling issues that define the core of our faith's values like honoring the sacred covenant of marriage, having a relationship with the Lord, observing the commandments, and being content the fact that the knowing Lord Jesus giving himself for our salvation is the most valuable gift we could ever receive. As we bump this music in our whips and at our parties and in our iPods and Mp3 players we're sure to do just the title of the album says and Take the City. Go cop it and put it on blast !!!!!!!

Yall know who it is !

Take the City receives a 4 out of 5 hipe hope headphones for originality, delivery, spiritual content, hot tracks, and that feel good vibe.
