T.D. JAKES AMONG CHRISTIAN LEADERS WHO MET WITH OBAMA:

Barack discussed Iraq war, gay rights, abortion and other issues with church ministers.



Illinois Senator Barack Obama discusses Darfur, the Iraq war, gay rights, abortion and other issues recently with Christian leaders, including conservatives, who have been criticized for praising the Democratic presidential candidate, according to the Associated Press.

Bishop T.D. Jakes a prominent black clergyman, who heads a Dallas mega-church, said Obama took questions, listened to participants and discussed his “personal journey of faith.”

The discussion “went absolutely everywhere,” Jakes told the Associated Press, and “just about every Christian stripe was represented in that room.”

Jakes said he hopes to meet with republican presidential candidate John McCain.

The senator’s support for abortion rights and gay rights, among other issues, drew opposition from religious conservatives; some conservatives have criticized Jakes for praising Obama. Jakes said the meeting, at a law firm’s office, seemed designed to prompt a wide discussion rather than to result in commitments from either Obama or those attending.

The report said that there was only a brief mention of Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s former pastor, who cursed America and accused the government of conspiring against blacks.

Christopher Lewis - Crisis Change is Required

Lewis grew up immersed in church music. Born around 1971 in Goldsboro, North Carolina. His father, Johnny Lewis, was a Deacon in the Central Heights, Free Will Baptist Church and sang in a local quartet while his mother; Ella Lewis was a lead singer in the church choir. Lewis is the youngest of the three children and while Gospel music was the preferred choice at home other sounds managed to make their way into Christopher’s hearing to include the likes of James Taylor, The Beatles, Billie Holiday and Sam Cooke along with gospel giants like Shirley Ceasar, Andre Crouch and The Hawkins Singers all were instrumental influences. Christopher is an ordained minister who accepted his calling into ministry at age 7. At age 8, he composed his first song appropriately entitling it “Jesus Is Calling” . By the time he was in the tenth grade, he had composed several songs including one that is now know around the world, “Sing Praises To Thee,” recorded by gospel artist Judith Christie-McAllister, and sung by choirs everywhere.

Field testing on the developing concept video is happening right now. You can click the video once you are done viewing and leave comments for the creators. You can also visit their Animation Project feedback page where you can sign up to receive a DVD to show groups of people, ask them questions, and provide feedback via the online survey.

They want to use the original dialog recordings from the Jesus Film, but translate the visual elements into the "Modern, visual language of this young, media sophisticated generation..."

This Anime like it's predecessor will also be in many languages as well.

Album Review: Jovan Mackenzy "Jihad"

What’s good people’s, its ya boy D.J Sizzle hooking you up with a review of the hot new JIHAD album from a spirit filled brother that goes by the name Jovan Mackenzy. First off I know you might be wondering about the title but he’s talking about all out spiritual war. He explains it a lot better than I can. I guess you’ll have to get it to know what I’m talking about. And before I go any further let me just say that God has truly blessed this man with vision and a clear message to the streets as well as the church. This album has got something for everybody your boy did it all. I mean he was switching up the flow every other track. But what I liked and was really impressed with was his focus on the gospel and its essence was never degraded. There’s some tracks like “39 Lashes” that just straight up slap you in your face, like homie, this is what it is, there’s no way around it man, it’s just the truth. Then you have this one joint “Narrow Road” that gives you a glimpse of the artist himself and the struggle we all deal with on an everyday basis. I’m not going to go through every song I’ll just let you do that yourself. This is a full length project and all the guest artist were of top notch caliber so I ain’t even gone get into naming names. Now if you’re into party tracks and crunk Christian music there’s a chance you might be disappointed although I personally don’t think you will be. The word play is very nice, the production is on point and it’s loaded with hard hitting in ya face truth on every song. So go pick it up, download it, do whatever you got to do listen to it and be edified and blessed by this music. May God bless Jovan, God Chaserz, and all you Hipe Hope readers. I’m out.

Special Music Spotlight: Brother Deddrick

Raised up by a loving Grandmother in South Central Los Angeles. From birth Brother Deddricks mother and father were already into the streets and drugs at that time. "So there was never a mothers love around or a man to teach me how to be a man. I had to figure it out through a lot of mistakes."

As a child he felt abandoned and embarrassed by his parents. "As a result I grew angry, lonely, and depressed." By the age of fifteen he began to experiment with alcohol and marijuana. "It made me feel good. It gave me a sense of courage." The shy and innocent Deddrick would cease to exist. An arrogant and violent Deddrick would emerge. Like Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars was seduced by the dark side of the force to become Darth Vador, so was Deddrick. Consumed by an altar ego D' Rock he would become a drug dealing gang banger. Needless to say he was in and out of jails and prisons for my lawless behavior.

At the ripe age of thirty he would begin to use the very drug (cocaine) that robbed me of both my parents. And he would fall so far and so hard.

"After fourteen recovery programs that never worked for me. After being homeless on the streets of Downtown L.A.. After smelling my filth and watching rats run over me I became disgusted with myself.

With fierce tears and on both knees I cried out to Jesus. Praise and Glory to the Lord because He heard me and delivered me from a hopeless state of mind."

Brother Deddrick has been saved nearly five years now. The Lord has blessed him with a beautiful wife, and three wonderful children. "He has provided for me everything I ever wanted and needed."

Today he is currently the Music Minister of F.R.O.G. (Forever Rely on God) Ministries. "I've been able to speak at schools to share my experience, strength, and hope with our youth to give them some encouragement. I get to feed the homeless people. I get to be a husband to my wife. I get to be a father to my children. And most recently I've gotten the opportunity to worship with the praise team at my
Church. Most importantly I get to serve an awesome GOD."

"Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I want you to know I am too blessed to be stressed. From a corrupted mind and a wicked heart. I strive daily to be holy, for my Lord Jesus Christ. He has molded me into a man of God with integrity and character. He has anointed me and filled me with the fruits of His Holy Spirit. I will serve Him all my days!"
