Album Review :: Dats Gospel Mix 2 :: GodChaserz

What's happening GOD's people, D.J Sizzle is back with an awesome collection of music from Brinson along with the GodChaserz Camp and a host of fire spittin affiliates. That's right its DAT's Gospel Mix 2. A compilation album of new music from your boyz Brinson, Ready Writer, Big R, and C-Straight. This one's got it all bagged up with guest like Knine, Excelcius, D.J 1 God, Eshon Burgundy, Humble Tip, Omotayo, Fedel, JAZ, Kdrama, ReadyWriter, J. Johnson, Tre 9, DGM23, h.E.A.V.Y. and come on,  do I really need to go any further, this list alone should peak your interest. As always this project is filled to the brim with heart piercing God core lyrics cleverly packaged and delivered with an effective street swag that'll have hip-hop heads from both sides of the isle digging in. DAT's Gospel Mix 2 put together in a line up that presents a radio feel with cinematic transitions and commercial style cuts laced with bite size portions of the spoken word of GOD. If you have yet to experience the ministerial work of founder Brinson and the GodChaserz this mix tape does a great job of displaying the level commitment and talent of these grounded men of GOD. The project is as diverse as the guest list. From dance, east coast, old school, down south, freestyle and more, its all here. I must admit that even with the vast amount of outside artist the members of the GodChaserz camp put forth their A+ game and once again proved themselves to be listed among triple H's (holy hip-hop) elite. Furthermore the heart of the camp itself, as well as the individuals, are presented through the issues tackled in the lyrics of each track most notably, Not a Lot to Say by Brinson and Readywriter, which deals with the state of the streets, and the need of the people that live in them, to be exposed to christians living and walking the word of GOD in their everyday lives. Jesus Coming back by Big R and DGM23, is a song that stresses the day of the coming of the Lord Jesus,  and the importance of being prepared to face judgment after death. I can't hear ya'll by Readywriter, Brinson, and Big R paints a picture of the lies and garbage that the media, street life and culture bombard our communities with on a daily and how staying grounded in the word opens our eyes to the vain exploits of this world and allows the believer to block empty ideas and cling to the truth of GODs word. U make me better by Big R, gives us a view of the value we take on when Christ is Lord of your life and how no amount of wealth, status or accomplishments can outshine those with the favor and blessing of our GOD, and this is just a taste of the content presented in DAT's Gospel Mix 2. This collection is nicely arranged and gives a deeper look at GodChaserz and the drive behind the music they make.
If you want music that breaks the mold of the typical hip-hop given to you on the radio and TV Cop this album DAT's Gospel Mix 2.

DAT's Gospel Mix 2 bangs out at 5 hipe hope headphones for Sharp spiritual content dope delivery, diverse lyrical and musical styles, envelope pressing issues, and hot production. shout out to Brinson, the GodChaserz, and everyone that contributed to the project keep putting in work for the Lord God bless.

Featured Artist :: Rafiya :: Amazing

Philadelphia based Afro-Soul singer, Rafiya, released, “Amazing”, the first single from her forthcoming EP of the same name on Tuesday October 6th 2009. “Amazing” is an acoustic ode to what she considers to be the greatest love of all. Its tone and lyrical content exemplify what Rafiya is all about: soul music that strikes a chord and inspires.
“Amazing”, the EP, scheduled for a digital release on Tuesday November 17th 2009, was written and recorded in Paris, Philadelphia, New York and Maputo over a two-year period, and each city played an important role in shaping its sound. The project’s sonic diversity is a testament to Rafiya’s transcultural influences and its transcendental appeal is proof that music truly is a universal language. Through songs about love, faith, heartbreak and hope, Rafiya wants to share her positive and optimistic perspective on life - a gift she deems Amazing.
Who is Rafiya?
Rafiya was born in Los Angeles to Congolese parents: a diplomat father and a sociologist mother. Due to her father’s career, she traveled extensively during her formative years: living in Congo (Democratic Republic), the Cape Verde Islands, Benin, Senegal, Guinea, Barbados and Ivory Coast. She moved to Philadelphia in 2001 to attend Temple University where she double majored in Sociology and Spanish, and graduated in 2006 with honors.
While attending school full-time in the aforementioned nations, Rafiya found time to work with local artists, absorbing their techniques and wisdom all the while enriching her sound. She has worked with Oscar Kidjo, recorded in Youssou N’Dour’s studio and toured France and North Africa with French rap star, Mokobe.
Every passing collaboration, studio session and performance strengthened her ever-present belief that she would be spending her life making music; making people smile, dance and think.
Rafiya writes and sings about the human experience in French and English but regardless of your native tongue, her passion translates itself in the melody. Parlez-vous Rafiya?

Hello, we are back in town. And have a lot of emails to go through and a lot of catching up to do, so please be patient. DJ Sizzle's mother is in critical condition, which is why we left, and she got to see the baby. But we had to return for other reasons. Please keep him and his mother in your prayers.
